• Hawaii Library Association Meeting, November 11-12. I'll be speaking on the ever-thrilling topic of standards.

Various Committees & Assignments

• I write the Managing Technology column for the Journal of Academic Librarianship. The columns appear here on this site as preprints.
• I am on the (hopefully shortlived) ALCTS Task Force on Non-English Access. I say "hopefully shortlived" because we've been discussing the expansion of the library catalog to full Unicode now for years, so it's time to make a decision and stick to it.
• San Francisco Public Library Task Force on Technology and Privacy. See our final report on the use of RFID.
